Review
Xilisoft DVD to DivX Converter allows you to rip a DVD into DivX format. Although there are many applications that allow you to convert a DVD into a file encoded with DivX, I guess Xilisoft had so many video applications that they just felt compelled to write this one anyway. This application may be useful for those who want to back up their entire collection of DVD into a more compact, accessible form. A regular DVD weighs 4.5gbs versus the 700mb that this program can achieve for a full-length movie. However, if you are going to rip DVDs occasionally, this application might come in a little too expensive. Price and uses aside, Xilisoft DVD to DivX converter boasts more customizable options than the competition. With it, you can rip a whole DVD to an .AVI file and choose exactly what size you want it to be. Also, you can only select a chapter and rip only that. Or choose the subtitles you want to rip with the video file. The output files can be played on most portable Divx players and, of course, on any device that supports DivX/Xvid. |
